The Best Man

Published by onestopmom at 12:00 am under drama Edit This

This is one of my favorite movies. This is strange because I am not a huge fan of romance movies. They make me cry and I hate to cry. A better description of The Best Man is a romance drama combo.  The four main male characters are

morris chestnut Morris Chestnut   taye diggs Taye Diggs

terrence howard Terrence Howard  harold-perrineau Harold Perrineau

Harper(Taye Diggs) is a writer who is about to go mainstream and  has huge committment issues. One of his best friends, Lance (Morris Chestnut) is about to get married and wants Harper as his best man. Harper leaves his girlfriend Robin (Sanaa Lathan) to go reunite with his college friends. Those friends include Quentin (Terrence Howard) who is a typical womanizer, Murch(Harold Perrineau) who is definitely whipped and Jordan(Nia Long) the only girl in the crew and is professionally driven. The drama centers around the book that Harper wrote that his friends were not supposed to read especially right before a wedding. The book is full of secrets that could literally break up these friends.  The Best Man had me crying and laughing the entire time. I love the fact that some real life issues were touched upon. This is a really good date movie. Except in my case because I watch it so much he can not take it any more. But I promise by the end you will cry a little with a smile on your face. And if you are anything like me you will have to get up and dance.
